Sample PIA - DLLR
You can find a sample of a PIA, along with an accompanying letter requesting additional information, prepared by Peter Sabonis regarding DLLR issues at: http://www.mdjustice.org/node/1668.
I am not reattaching it, beause that would take up a good bit of space on the website server.
Sample PIA - DHMH
Jennifer Goldberg offered this sample, with her usual humble disclaimer about how good it might be. But it is a fine example, in concert with the one from Peter Sabonis for DLLR.
Sample PIA Request to a Housing Authority
The Southern MD LAB office has experienced some pretty egregious due process violations in dealing with all three of our county housing authorities. We sent the attached letter to all of them. Phone access to Baltimore Neighborhoods, Inc.
In response to a question from one of our staff about clients calling to say thay have not been able to reach BNI, Legal Aid received this response:
We have a new, all digital phone system that has presented us with many challenges, including this perception by our target audience. The phones, however, are working. When callers dial the hotline, they are presented with four choices, with the last one asking if they'd like to speak to a counselor, which they will have to confirm after hearing one more, short, announcement. It is at that point the confusion comes in.
