Free Trainings From the AOC's Dept. of Family Administration

The following free training
opportunities are offered by the AOC through the Department of Family
Administration. All courses are offered free
of charge at the Judiciary Education and Conference
Center in Annapolis. Any questions should be

- Domestic Violence Law Training: December 9, 2011, 8:30am- 12:30pm
Half
day Domestic Violence Law Training opportunity for all practitioners.
Updates on new law and statutes as well as discussion on emerging issues such
as identifying domestic violence issues in alternative dispute resolution.
- Collaborative Law Seminar- November 10, 2011, 8:30am-12:30pm
Half
day training opportunity for practitioners interested in Collaborative Law. The
training is designed to be an introduction into the costs and benefits of the
Collaborative Law process.
- Child Counsel Training- October 18th, 2011, 8:30am-4:30pm
Training
for those interested in becoming court appointed child counsel in custody and
visitation cases. Completion of the course satisfies requirements of MD Rule
9-205.1 and is designed pursuant to the Maryland Guidelines for Practice for
Court Appointed Lawyers Representing Children in Cases Involving Child Custody
or Child Access. Very few spots remain.
- Collaborative Law Certification Course- March 2012
Three
day training event designed to certify practitioners in the practice of
collaborative law. Courses taught by nationally recognized collaborative law
practitioners. More details will soon be available.
