Behavioral Health Integration: Kick-Off Meeting

The behavioral health kick-off meeting will be held on March 14, 2012 from 1:30pm-3:30pm. The meeting will take place in rooms 4 and 5 of the Health Sciences Pavilion of Anne Arundel Medical Center. The address is 2000 Medical Parkway, Annapolis MD 21401. Directions are below.

Route 50 West to Jennifer Road, exit 23A.

Turn left at the light onto Jennifer Road.

Cross over Medical Parkway.

Turn right at the Health Sciences Pavilion directional signs, to GARAGE E.

 

Route 50 East to Parole, Exit 23.

Bear right onto West Street.

Turn right onto Jennifer Road.

Before reaching the light at Medical Parkway, turn left at the signs directing parking to the Health Sciences Pavilion. Park in GARAGE E.

As many of you know, on December 27, 2011 Secretary Sharfstein released a letter regarding Maryland's progress on behavioral health integration. In this letter, Dr. Sharfstein explained that one of the next steps for Maryland in deciding how to move forward with behavioral health integration will be for the Department to establish a planning team led by the Deputy Secretary for Health Care Financing to review Maryland's financing and integration options. By September 30, 2012, this planning team must develop a draft approach to integrate care based on the findings in the consultant's report and as refined through a planning process that involves stakeholders.

 

The kick-off meeting for this planning process will be held in Annapolis the afternoon of March 14 (specific time and location to be determined). The agenda for this meeting is attached. Your feedback regarding Maryland's financing and integration options for behavioral health are very important to this planning team and we look forward to your contribution.
