This session will explore legal options to avoid Guardianship. Guardianship of an adult should always be the last resort, when all other options have been exhausted. Join us as we review the basics of capacity and guardianship, financial tools such as joint accounts, powers of attorney, representative payee, living trusts, and health care tools such as default health care decision makers, durable power of attorney for health care, living wills, and physicians’ orders for life sustaining care (POLST.)
